Biography:

I have had a lifetime interest in languages, particularly French. I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, where French was part of the culture. At the age of 12, I lived in Paris, France for a year, attended a French school and lived in a “pension” (boarding house) where I spoke French with adults at the communal meals, and with the other children in the house. Back in the States, I continued to study French from 8th grade up through receiving a B.A. from Newcomb College, Tulane University. The summer between my Junior and Senior years was spent in Dijon, France at the Universite’ de Dijon studying French language and culture. During my college years, I was an integral part of the language laboratory, working in the tape-library, and socializing with language professors and students.

I have taught in New York Public Schools, and most recently spent several years as French Teacher for Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs, NY. There I taught students of different ages, from 1st grade to 10th grade, with a wide variation of language backgrounds. I had the opportunity to teach English to French-speaking students as well. I received a certificate for attending an intensive summer workshop for French teachers in Waldorf Method held in Toronto, Canada. I have tutored home-school students and adults one-on-one in Saratoga Springs and the Albany Capital District Area.
